Thailand EdTech funnel benchmarks we actually use

These numbers are not a market report. They come from exported tables teams brought to Datafeaturebase, mostly Thai store listings or regional apps with a heavy Thai cohort. Definitions were rewritten during the desk, so early “completion” figures were thrown out. If you compare your current vanity dashboard to this page, you will misread both.
First-session check submit among people who finished account creation: we usually see 31–48% on tutoring and language apps aimed at secondary students. Vocational and adult apps run a little higher when the first task is short. Consumer-style onboarding checklists sit lower; that is a design choice, not destiny.
Week-4 return among week-1 check-submitters (not among installers): 41–62% outside exam months. During national exam windows the same product can look like the high twenties. We treat that as calendar until device-switch and paper-revision are ruled out. The 19.4% median lift we mention on the home page is a change after event-grammar work, not an industry average.
Paywall after a completed unit versus mid-lesson: we do not publish conversion percentages. Too few comparable paywalls, too many price points. What we will say: mid-lesson paywalls generate more refund tickets in the desks we have seen. Unit-end paywalls convert fewer sessions and produce fewer angry tutors. Choose on purpose.
Shared devices are more visible in the tables from outside the BTS corridor. Identity models that assume one phone per learner quietly invent churn. Connectivity also changes first-session length; a first value that requires a long video will fail in places where a check-first lesson would not.
Private tutoring culture means some “inactive” weeks are spent in a physical classroom covering the same unit. If you sell into those homes, ask whether your app is homework, replacement, or status object. The funnel shape follows the job.
Pick one range that matches your subject and age band. Rewrite your events until the definition matches ours well enough to compare. If you are far outside the range, do not panic-copy a competitor. Sit down with a tutor and a calendar. If you want help doing that without importing ecommerce habits, start at EdTech App Analytics or write to the desk.
